About The Event

Are you artistic? Do you enjoy painting or paint by numbers? Are you good at staying inside the lines? We are looking for volunteers with artistic inclination and excellent  attention to detail to help with mural painting at our next school project at Roosevelt Elementary School in Redwood City. Mural painters will be painting in a traced design that will already be on the walls, with pre-mixed colors. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on as the paint we use does not wash out.

A casual pizza lunch will be provided around 11:30am for those without dietary restrictions.

This volunteer opportunity is for adults and teens age 16 and up only. Each person volunteering must be signed up individually.

Roosevelt is a school in the Redwood City School District with students in grades TK - 5. The school’s mission is to inspire students to “DREAM of their futures, BELIEVE in themselves, and ACHIEVE their goals: Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it.” One of the most powerful ways students can do this is through a love of reading. Since the majority of Roosevelt’s students are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged their school library is likely to be their primary source of pleasure reading books, so having engaging, up-to-date and diverse books at school is especially important. We invite you to join us to help expand their library with books that spark curiosity, reflect their experiences and open doors to new worlds.
