A revitalization project is transforming the library at Roosevelt Elementary School in Redwood City into a reading wonderland inside and out. The library’s interior recently underwent a makeover by Access Books Bay Area featuring vibrant animal murals and more than $20,000 worth of donated new books. “It’s making a library that’s just very fun and welcoming,” school librarian Peyton Carpenter said.

Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Sharks Foundation introduced an updated mission to empower youth through education and wellness while advancing equitable access to hockey. The 2025-26 Goals for Kids grantees reflect this focus with support for Access Books Bay AreaBoys & Girls Clubs of Silicon ValleyKABOOM!One Step Beyond, Inc. and Sunnyvale Community Services.

On September 20th, the Sharks Foundation revitalized Lead Elementary School library for the upcoming school year. The Sharks Foundation selected Access Books Bay Area as a Goals for Kids recipient last season, and the $29,715 grant was used to refresh School’s library, located in San Mateo.
