About The Event
Volunteers with excellent fine motor skills, attention to detail, and a love of organization are needed to help sort and process library books at our next school library project at Ohlone Middle School in San Jose. Book processing involves stamping, adhering bar code labels, alphabetizing, covering the books with mylar covers, organizing the books and shelving the books.
A casual pizza lunch will be provided around 11:30am for those without dietary restrictions.
This volunteer opportunity is for adults and teens age 16 and up only. Each person volunteering must be signed up individually.
Ohlone is a school in the San José Unified School District where many students are experiencing homelessness and receive shelter and services through our partner organization, Amigos de Guadalupe. The school’s library collection is quite old, and staff are eager to refresh it with new books that truly engage their middle school readers — especially graphic novels and books about sports.
